Women's Residential Seminole(Seminole County Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for Women)
Women's Residential Seminole is a 4 to 6 month treatment facility for homeless, substance dependent women who are motivated to gain the skills and support they need to live in recovery. Substance-abusing women age 18 and older will be considered based on clinical appropriateness and bed availability.
The program uses a holistic approach to substance abuse treatment which integrates traditional modalities of treatment, such as individual, group, and family therapy, with meditation and movement therapy, such as yoga. Groups focus on recovery issues, domestic violence, anger management, coping skills, and decision making skills. Vocational services, housing, psychiatric care, and physical health issues are addressed. Emphasis is also put on learning and practicing appropriate leisure and recreational skills.
Women's Residential Seminole has four phases of treatment (Orientation, Commitment, Change, and Maintenance). Each phase has specific therapeutic requirements to be completed before moving to the next phase. The program recognizes that each woman is on her own individual journey to recovery and therefore works through the phases in her own time.
During the third phase, “Change”, clients are encouraged to pursue their educational or employment goals. A Case Manager works with each client helping them to reach their educational or employment goals.
