Seminole County Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for Women
· Heart to Heart is a 4 to 6 month treatment facility for homeless, substance dependent women who are motivated to gain the skills and support they need to live in recovery.
· Substance-abusing women age 18 and older will be considered based on clinical appropriateness and bed availability.
· Heart to Heart offers a holistic approach to substance abuse treatment, integrating traditional modalities of treatment such as individual, group, and family therapy with meditation and movement therapy, such as yoga. Groups focus on recovery issues, domestic violence, anger management, coping skills, and decision making skills. Vocational services, housing, psychiatric care, and physical health issues are addressed. Emphasis is also put on learning and practicing appropriate leisure and recreational skills.
· Women who are interested in being admitted to Heart to Heart need to have an assessment at one of the following locations:

· Heart to Heart has four phases of treatment (Orientation, Commitment, Change, and Maintenance).
o Each phase has specific therapeutic requirements to be completed before moving to the next phase.
o Heart to Heart appreciates that each woman is on her own individual journey to recovery and therefore works through the phases in her own time.
o Most women complete the program in four to six months.
o As women progress through their phases and take on more responsibility they earn more privileges.
· Work/School- In the third phase “Change” clients are encouraged to pursue the educational or employment goals. Heart to Heart employs a fulltime Case Manager who is responsible for helping clients reach their educational or employment goals.
· Other Information about Heart to Heart
o Heart to Heart is a tobacco/smoke free facility
o Family can visit on Sat or Sun after client has completed the Orientation Phase and met with counselor.
o Heart to Heart staff will help clients keep appointments with the court or probation.
o Phone Calls are allowed after client has completed the Orientation Phase.
